Differentials and Deception

Differentials and Deception is a clinical reasoning challenge that tests participants’ diagnostic skills under pressure. The event mirrors real-world decision making, demanding sharp analysis and the ability to separate accurate findings from misleading information.

Event Structure:

  • Participants will receive a comprehensive patient case file outlining history, symptoms, and initial examination findings.
  • As the round progresses, additional updates will be provided, including laboratory results, imaging findings, and other relevant clinical data.
  • One of these findings will be deliberately falsified.
  • Teams must identify and rule out the misleading element while integrating the remaining evidence to formulate the most accurate diagnosis.
  • Participants will then present and defend their diagnosis before a panel of judges.
