
Abstract, poster and oral presentation guidelines
Abstract guideline for scientific poster and oral presentations.
- All abstracts should be written in clear English (United Kingdom) with accurate grammar and spelling.
- The whole document should fit on one side of A4.
- Text must be typewritten in black using Arial 11 with single line spacing.
- Title in Bold (font size 11, Arial).
- Full name of authors and supervisors should be used, supervisor’s name appearing last (font size 11, Arial). Presenting author’s name to be underlined
- Use superscript numbers to match authors and institutions (font size 11, Arial).
- The list of author names should be followed by the authors’ affiliation including Department, College, and City (font size 11, Arial).
- Abstract text should be divided into the following sections:
Introduction: A brief description of the background of the study.
Aims: Objective of the study.
Methods: a brief description of the materials and experimental method used.
Results: The result should relate the observations and/or data collected during experiment/study. It should be concise and informative and only the most important results need to be included.
Conclusion: A brief summary of the essentials results that are demonstrated by the data collected. It should also briefly state the implications of these results.
Keywords: Only 3-5 keywords are accepted - Total words not exceeding 300 words. The word count excludes title, author(s), and keywords.
*Important Note: ONLY shortlisted abstracts will be presented on conference.
Only ONE presenter is allowed on conference.
Scientific posters – general information, guideline and format
General Information: Poster Competition (for undergrad students & postgrad students/faculty/graduates)
All registered participants shall submit a soft copy of abstracts as per the given criteria on the google form by 13th April 2025.
Submitted abstracts shall be shortlisted after initial evaluation by the poster adjudication team by 20th April 2025. The decision on the abstracts shall be communicated to the participants through e-mail.
Participants of the selected abstracts shall be asked to submit e-posters to the mentioned e-mail address for 2nd adjudication by the respective judges. Deadline for e-poster submission is 27th April 2025.
The original research articles and systematic review/meta-analysis will be evaluated as per their respective rubrics which will be provided to the judges via email prior to the conference day so they can evaluate the poster.
Presenters of the shortlisted posters shall be invited to present their posters on the day of the conference 2025, CMH LMC & IOD.
On conference day, the participant will not verbally present the poster rather there will be a question answer session in which the participant will be asked 2 questions and their marks will be added to the score gained from the initial rubrics.
Guidelines:
- Poster should be a printed flex with standees.
- Participants must bring the printed posters with standees.
- Presenting author must be present at the time of presentation.
- Setup and removal of the poster will be the participants’ responsibility.
- The presentation time for each poster will be 5 minutes.
- Only corresponding participant will be notified through email about the status of the presentation.
- All the poster will be evaluated by the rubrics provided to the judges prior to the event.
- During conference, the participant will not verbally present the poster rather there will be a question answer session in which the participant will be asked 2 questions and their marks will be added to the score gained from the initial rubrics.
- E-posters to be submitted on oriccmhlmc@gmail.com after notification of acceptance of abstract before the deadline.
Format:
- Size 5ft x 2ft (height x width)
- Portrait format
- Pdf or a single slide PPT
- Font: Arial or Times New Roman
- Font Size ≥ 16
- Language: English
- Use large text readable from a distance of 3 feet
- Maximum of 10 references must be given, in Vancouver style
- The images (Clip arts, Graphs, Figures and Tables) must all be in high resolution
- All funding sources, commercial names, names of all the participants/supervisors should be mentioned
Scientific oral presentation – general information, guideline and format.
General Information: Oral presentation competition (For postgrad students, faculty and graduates)
Participants intending to give oral presentations shall submit a soft copy of the respective abstracts as per the given criteria on the Google Form by 13th April 2025.
Submitted abstracts shall be shortlisted after initial evaluation by the oral presentation adjudication team by 20th April 2025.
The decision on the abstracts shall be communicated to the participants through e-mail, with a request to submit a soft copy of their presentation of 7 to 10 slides only; deadline for submission is 30th April 2025.
Selected participants shall deliver an oral presentation on research day within the allocated time slot of 7 mins only, followed by question answer sessions. Adjudication team will score as per rubrics.
Guidelines:
- In order to be considered, the contestant's research may not have been published or presented at any major scientific meeting prior to division meeting at which the contestant is selected.
- Participants must present their presentations on PowerPoint.
- Presenting author must be present at the time of presentation.
- The setup of presentation will be the participants’ responsibility.
- The presentation time for each candidate will be 7 minutes.
- Only corresponding participants will be notified through email about the status of the presentation
- Co-authors, if any, should be listed on both the abstract and the presentation
- Soft copy to be submitted on oriccmhlmc@gmail.com after notification of acceptance of abstract before the deadline.
