STUDENT RESEARCH CLUB (SRC)

 

The Student Research Club at CMH LMC & IOD aims to facilitate the undergraduate students in understanding, planning and execution of research activities at the institute. The ultimate goal is to promote research culture and integrate student learning with direct knowledge application.

 

Objectives

• To keep the students updated about college research policies, in liaison with L-ORIC.
• To motivate students to involve in research activities.
• To guide students regarding development of research projects.
• To conduct competitions and events such as posture presentation and research-quiz.
• To encourage students to publish articles in recognized journals.
• To encourage the students to participate in workshops and conferences.

 

Faculty & Student Cabinet

The faculty cabinet is headed by Prof Dr Col Ashraf Chaudhry as the Staff President, Prof Dr Ansa Rabia as the Staff Advisor and Dr. Sehrish Zaffar as the Staff Coordinator.

The student council is represented by Mir Muhammad Rai as the President of SRC, Ahmed Asim as Vice President (Internal affairs) and Ismail Mazhar as Vice President (External affairs). The team is further strengthened by an extremely efficient executive board comprising of secretaries that lead multiple teams such as advisory board, publications and coordination with the animal research laboratory.

 

Activities

Throughout the year, SRC organizes multiple events to enhance the research culture of CMH LMC & IOD. Following is an overview of the activities carried out by the club;

Research Module	2nd week of Summer Holidays	A weeklong research module to teach enthusiastic junior students the basics of research to help them take the first steps into this field.
Research Cafe	Ongoing activity Once a month	An informal research-based discussion to bridge the gap between SRC members and junior students
SRC Open Forum	Ongoing activity	Faculty members of SRC have designated every Thursday for students’ research queries.
Ours Abroad (Online interview series)	Ongoing activity	SRC organizes an online zoom series interviewing the experiences of the graduates and highlighting the areas of interest in research, in different countries.
